No Regrets, San Diego: The Countdown Begins

It is official! We will be saying goodbye to San Diego, CA in 3 months. I have lived here for 9 years, during which a lifetime of changes have occurred (some welcomed, some met with extreme opposition). All have been for the very best. Through these changes, I have learned that 100% of the time, God places true-life angels in my path when they are needed most. San Diego is full of them. I would like to be able to say, without a doubt, that I lived each moment here to its fullest, worked diligently, wasted not, wanted not, and loved hard. In pondering whether or not I truly lived this way in the last 9 years, I started a list. It was fun, so I decided to start 2 lists. Then 3...

The bottom line is, I still have 3 months to complete my "Things I did not do, with Regrets" list, and I have 3 months to re-do everything on my "Things I did that Rocked" list....

Things I did not do, 100% no regrets:
surf
Sea World
Legoland
party in Mexico
get plastic surgery in La Jolla
stop using my blinker while driving
set up a tent on any asphalt surface and call it camping
get to a picnic spot in a gross park at 0530 to reserve the spot
run the Rock & Roll marathon with 80 million people
go 4x4ing on the dunes
go clubbing in the Gaslamp District
become a cyclist
get a small white dog or a Chihuahua
get a tropical bird of some sort
put those stickers on my car that represent my family or neighborhood
collect shells
go clubbing in PB
drive drunk
jaywalk
talk to myself on a street corner while totally sober

Things I did not do, with regrets:
learn to speak Spanish

enough charity
go to the Del Mar Fair
go to the nude beach when it was still the nude beach
join a community garden
go to all the used book stores
plant an herb garden

wear enough sunscreen
see enough sunsets at Sunset Cliffs
see enough sunsets at the beach while running barefoot
take a desert survival field course
learn to make my own Kombucha
learn to brew my own beer
forgive enough people, enough times

  6. well. the good news is. a lot of the stuff on your "regrets" list can be done anywhere . . . so you shouldn't really regret it. maybe just make it a goal at your next destination.
